• Solenoid Valve: An electromechanical device that controls the flow of fluid or air.

  Example: It's installed on the hydraulic system of a Sandvik DINO DC410R surface drill rig to control the pilot pressure, which in turn activates the rock drill's percussion and rotation.

• Hydraulic Pump: The "heart" of a hydraulic system, it converts mechanical energy into hydraulic energy.
